Livarno Collector’s Display Cabinet

Today I would like to present the cabinet that I use to display my collection. It is Livarno Collector’s Display Cabinet (http://www.lidl.co.uk/cps/rde/xchg//lidl_uk/hs.xsl/index_16264.htm?offerdate=&ar2=) and I must say that I am very pleased with it. Its dimensions are 68x110x20 cm (that is 27x43x8 inches). It comes with safety glass front doors, glass sides and ten adjustable glass shelves. Visually it is quite a classy piece of furniture. See-through doors and sides transmit a lot of light through them so the collection is nicely lit during the day and even the figures in corners are nicely visible. Although the cabinet is not airtight, very little dust gets in, so your figures are somewhat protected against it (after two months in quite a dusty room there is still no need to dust-off the figures).

Currently there are exactly one hundred
figures of all sizes in the cabinet.
Collection is nicely visible from all
angles thanks to see-through sides.

As you can see from the pictures, each shelf can hold three rows of figures comfortably (that's about 30 standard 3 3/4-inch figures per shelf) without it looking too crowded. The cabinet originally comes in various kinds of wood effect but I decided to paint it matte black so it blends easily with my other furniture in the room and to emphasize bright colors of comics figures.

Cabinet comes disassembled in one suprisingly heavy box so I strongly advise against trying to put it on the wall singlehandedly, although the assembly itself is easy and straightforward. It is good to think about display layout in advance so you do not need to rearrange the shelves in vain.

Chromed handle can be installed in any height,
so it does not obscure the figures

The cabinet is sold in Europe through discount supermarket chain LIDL for quite a low price of £49.99 (that is roughly $78). If you are lucky and see it, I highly recommend it as a cool way to show off your collection.
